Yellow Technology is a professional audio consultancy, dealing with all elements of studio and audio system design and installation.  We work with a varied client base, including film & television composers, producers, recording studios, post-production, library music, and broadcast.  Our work is, therefore, exciting, varied and challenging.

We are looking for an additional member to join our Production Team.  You will start your journey as an Engineer, regardless of your previous experience, in order to learn the way we do things.  Your progression through to Senior Engineer, Consultant and beyond will be determined by your ability to learn quickly and take on responsibility, whilst honouring the three core values that are at the heart of our company - Excellence, Elegance and Extraordinary Care.

You will be a master of many skills.  A true all-rounder, our clients will come to rely on you not just to build and maintain their audio systems, but to provide unbiased and knowledgeable advice when planning changes or improvements and advanced level support when they encounter problems.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Assembling, configuring and testing audio systems;
• Installing furniture, acoustic panels and general studio fixtures on clients’ premises;
• Manufacturing audio cables and other bespoke products;
• Planning, performing and documenting routine system maintenance;
• Supporting clients via telephone, email, online and in person.

And, in time:-

• Consulting with clients in the design of new audio systems and planned upgrades or changes;
• Production and revision of system designs, proposals and quotations;
• Planning and managing all stages of client projects;

Key Skills:-

• A broad knowledge of music technology, ideally including some experience of audio systems, signal path and recording techniques;
• Experience in the use of one or more DAW systems;
• A basic understanding of the nature of sound and acoustics;
• Musical training and experience;
• Technologically adept, with an enthusiasm and curiosity for all areas of technology.

Driving:-

• Candidates will be required to have Full UK Driving Licence in place before the start date of their placement. There’s no problem at all with applying before you have a licence in place if you’re able to rectify this in advance of your placement start date.

Yellow Technology has a long history of providing professional placements, offering our first back in 2007. A number of placement employees have subsequently returned to YT for graduate roles, although the placement equips individuals with a broad range of skills and experiences that are invaluable right across the audio industry. Whilst there is of course a great deal to learn throughout, placement employees are treated as equal to our full time consultants rather than as “runners” and typically finish the year as an integral part of the team with significant levels of responsibility.
